What Does ‘Done’ Mean?

Definition The term ‘Done’ is used in Scrum to define the criteria for when the implementation of a User Story or Epic is considered completed.

The criteria for ‘Done’ can either be a general one for all User Stories or Epics or it can be a specific one for a specific User Story or Epic.
The general definition of ‘Done’ is stated in the QMS and the specific one is defined during the Sprint Planning by the Product Owner and the Development Team. The Product Owner is the one who approves the definition of ‘Done’Typically ‘Done’ is defines as:
  • The Solution to the User Story has passed the User Acceptance Test.
  • Required documentation is ready in a final – approved – state.
